Biography:Siegfried Hartmann was born on October 15, 1927 in Liegnitz (now Poland). He studied directing at the DEFA Studio for Young Filmmakers from 1949 to 1951. In 1952, he joined the Studio for Popular Science Films, where he directed about twenty documentaries.
